Dr. James WIlliam Kigera, a lecturer at the Department is the new vice chairman of the Kenya Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Kigera was elected to this position at the tenth KOA conference at Eldoret. The department congratulates and wishes him well in his new capacity.

Professor L.N Gakuyu, a long serving academic member of staff has retired from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He continues to serve the orthopaedic fraternity and patients in Kenya. He is the Editor in Chief of East Africa Orthopaedic Journal among other responsibilties.

Dr. Ezekiel Oburu, a lecture in the department of Orthopaedics returned from a 6 month training in Ankle and foot surgery in Maryland , USA.

He will be now involved in providing specialized ankle and foot care.
