Department of ophthalmology staff and students who participated in the outreach

Staff and students from the department of ophthalmology held an outreach to Makueni County Refferal Hospital between 23rd and 25 April 2015. During the outreach, more than 12 eye surgeries were performed. More than 100 patients were seen in the outpatient department and treated.

Dr Stephen Gichuhi graduated with  a  PhD from  the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine on 6th March 2017. His thesis was on “The Epidemiology and Management of Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia (OSSN) in Kenya”.

The PhD project consisted of the following

  • 3 systematic reviews on

   i) the epidemiology of OSSN in Africa
